Attending scheduling - set up instructions

Download OnCall / Tutorials / Set up a schedule / Publish schedule

1. DOWNLOAD ONCALL

First you will need to download OnCall. You may download OnCall at http://www.spiralsoftware.com/ocDownload.html. The file is small (under 800KB) and will take just a few minutes to download.

Click on Download the full version of OnCall.

In the Internet Explorer File Download box, select Run this program from its current location or choose to Open the file (Windows XP).

The browser will display a box asking Do you want to install and run ...? It may warn you that the publisher cannot be determined but just say Yes to run the program.

A PKSFX Extract box will appear. Click the Extract button at the lower left, and enter the password we give you in all lower-case letters.

A folder with OnCall and the help files will appear. Double-click on the OnCall program to open OnCall.

If you want a desktop icon for OnCall, drag the OnCall ICU icon from the folder to your desktop.

If you need extra help with installation, click here for a step-by-step guide including screenshots.

2. TUTORIALS

When you first open OnCall, you will see the invitation to work through our step-through tutorials. The tutorials are a great introduction to OnCall and we highly recommend you go through them. If you prefer to work with the tutorials later, you can always find them in the Help / Contents.

3. SET UP A SCHEDULE

When you first open OnCall the Create a New Schedule box opens up. (If you don't see this, go to File / New.) Select Use a Calendar year to work with the Attending model.

Work through each tabbed section of the General setup box. You need not enter all your data right away. You can always return to this box through File / General setup or enter people and services directly on the schedules.

After entering some data, select the Finish tab, and open your first schedule.

4. PUBLISH SCHEDULE

When you're ready to put the schedules online (even just to try it), open your schedule in OnCall and go to File / Publish on the Web. Enter your administrator password and click "Quick Send".

To customize passwords or send schedules to staff via email, click the "Admin login" button to access the OnCall Web Administrator.

Each account has two passwords, one for the people in charge of making the schedules and another for your staff to check schedules online. Passwords can contain spaces and they are case-sensitive.

When you're ready for your staff to access the schedules, send them to amion.com and have them log in with the general-access password.
