| The checkout system lets you use your schedule at amion.com as a live, working copy. Our amion.com server becomes a remote disk, providing editing access from any
computer where you have OnCall installed. The checkout system helps coordinate scheduling amongst several
people. Only one person should work on the schedule at a time. If people are based at
different locations, the checkout system makes it easy to ensure that just one person has
the schedule open at a time. If someone checks out the schedule, anyone else who tries
opening from the web will get a warning that the file is checked out.
Go to File / Open. Make sure your administrator
password is in the box at the bottom of the Open dialog. Hit Open
from amion. The web site marks the file as checked out. When you've finished
making changes, republish the schedule to check it back in.
If you try closing OnCall without having republished the schedule,
OnCall asks whether you want to publish, check the file back in without republishing, or
leave it checked out.
When you restart OnCall later, it remembers that you were working
with the schedule at amion.com. It checks with the web site to see who last published and asks
whether you want to re-download or continue working with the local copy from your last
session. If you were the last one to publish, working with the local copy saves time and
is equivalent to re-downloading.
