OnCall's Contact box lets you build a custom list of contact numbers and information for each
staff member. OnCall previously provided fields for entering staff pagers, telephone and
email, but people typically have additional numbers and preferences on how to be contacted
when on call.
The
detailed contact information becomes part of the "Who's on call" list at amion.com.
Entries that use standard headings (Home, Pager, Cell etc.) appear as representative
icons. Custom headings appear as an open bullet. To view the number or other information
associated with a list entry, simply slide the tip of the mouse over the graphic.
At
amion.com,
entries appear in the order in which they're listed in the Contact box. If a person
prefers being contacted by cell phone first, put the cell number at the top of the list.
If the person doesn't answer the cell phone, then staff would try the second entry in the
list, perhaps the person's home number. Entries in the Contact box should be in the order
in which people prefer to be contacted, from top to bottom.
You
can include notes along with phone and pager numbers. You can also have entries with
"Note" as the heading.
The
Contact box is available in calendar-year type schedules only. Residents are typically
available by pager and should not need additional contact information.
For
schedules that are part of an OnCall Enterprise display, individual entries in the Contact
box list can be marked as public or private. Public entries will appear for anyone viewing
schedules at amion.com. Private entries, such as an attending's cell and home numbers,
appear only for people with special access, such as operators at the hospital switchboard.
