| An On-call scheduler that's easy on the budget | |
| Bethesda, MD. Oct 18, 2001 Physician scheduling can be a
complex, time-consuming task. Schedulers must factor in day-off requests, distribute
holiday and weekend assignments fairly, and balance workloads among full-time and
part-time staff. Practice management software does not include provider scheduling tools,
and most physician groups produce schedules by hand. To help, Spiral Software has created OnCall, a simple and affordable call-scheduling tool for physicians, nurses and other medical providers. Work requests go through amion.com, a web site designed to answer the question it asks, "Am I on?" Staff submit the days they can or cannot work using online calendars. Schedulers transfer requests to a local computer and build call schedules using OnCall. Finished schedules go back to amion.com where staff check who's on call, create calendars of their call duties, and download tasks to a Palm or other handheld. OnCall organizes requests, displays who's available for each shift, computes call tallies, and flags conflicts. OnCalls Autoscheduler helps automate scheduling by distributing weekday, weekend, and holiday assignments fairly, while factoring in requests and vacations. Initial set-up takes just minutes, and scheduling is faster and fairer than by hand. OnCall is affordable for any practice. It costs $249 per year for the OnCall scheduling software, amion.com web service, and unlimited technical support. |
